Registering and Vital Information about the Conference

  1. All students who register for the conference must be CURRENT student members of CLS. To join or renew, please do so on-line by visiting our website at: www.clsnet.org.
     
  2. If you wish to be considered for scholarship assistance from LSM, you must contact LSM staff by calling us at 703-642-1070 ext. 3303 or at lsm@clsnet.org.

  3. You must reserve your room by contacting the hotel directly. The hotel is the San Diego Marriott La Jolla. The Christian Legal Society’s group block rate is $169 per night plus taxes (CA tax is 12% for a total of $189.28). The hotel’s telephone number for room reservations is 858-587-1414. The reservation deadline for receiving the conference rate is Friday, October 2, 2009. Make your reservations early – CLS’ hotel site has sold out the past few years!

    If you do not have a roommate, and you wish to share a room, you must contact the LSM staff and request that your name be placed on the NLSC Roommate List. Further, you may request the contact information of individuals on the list. It will be the responsibility of the individuals on the list to make contact with one another and then make a joint reservation with the hotel. Rooms will accommodate up to four people in two double beds, so if you want more than one roommate to reduce costs, you are free to make those arrangements. PLEASE contact us if you have in fact found roommates so that we may take your name and your roommate(s) names off of the master list at 703-642-1070 ext. 3303 or at lsm@clsnet.org!

  4. The entire registration fee for the conference must be paid in full at the time of registration, either by check or credit card. You will not be considered registered until your registration fee is received by the LSM staff. Any scholarships awarded by LSM staff will be given to the student attending the conference in the form of a reimbursement check at the NLSC on Saturday, October 17th, as long as the student registered for the conference on or before October 2nd. If a student who has been awarded a scholarship does not attend the conference, his or her scholarship shall be cancelled and no reimbursement check will be given. 

  5. CLS LawStudent Member registration fees are $295. Spouse registration fees are $195.00. IF YOU ARE NOT A CLS LAW STUDENT MEMBER, registration fees are $695. If you register prior to the conference as a member and your membership expires on or before September 31, 2008, you will have to pay the non-member rate or renew your membership and pay the renewal dues. Renewing your membership is easy and can be done online!

  6. REFUND POLICY: All cancellations/requests for refunds must be made in writing by email, fax or snail mail. If received on or before September 12th, a $75 administrative fee will apply. If received by 4 p.m. EST on October 2nd, a $150.00 administrative fee will apply. CLS will issue a cancellation number, so if you do not have a cancellation number prior to 4 p.m. EST on September 26, 2008, you will not receive a refund. All cancellations after October 2nd including no-shows will not be eligible for a refund.

LODGING:

Daily room rate, including taxes and fees, at the Hyatt Regency Washington is $189.28.
One person to a room will cost $567.84 for three nights.
Two students to a room will cost each person $283.92 for the three nights. Three students to a room will cost each person $189.28 for the three nights.
Four students to a room will cost each person $141.96 for the three nights.
 
 
TRANSPORTATION:

This year we are pleased to offer special discounts from three airline carriers. American Airlines, Continental Airlines and jetBlue Airways are the three official carriers of the 2009 CLS National Conference.

The Marriott is about a 15 minute drive from the San Diego Airport (SAN) and a 65 minute drive from Orange County/John Wayne Airport (SNA) and 80 minutes from Long Beach Airport (LGB).

            Shuttles and Taxis
