I cordially invite you to join Christian lawyers, law students, judges, professors, family, and friends as Christian Legal Society returns to the beautiful white sand beaches of Clearwater Beach, Florida from October 11-14, 2018.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Being Faithful: Advocating for Justice, Mercy, and Truth.” May we never forget the warning of Jesus to not neglect these weightier matters – justice, mercy, and faith. How often have you considered the fact that Jesus sees faith as a part of the law? Join us as we discuss and consider these and many other topics.
You can expect a wonderful conference, including amazing speakers and workshops. I am excited to hear from Shirley Hoogstra, president of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, a former litigator, as well as a former vice president of Calvin College; from Mark Lanier, one of the country’s premiere litigators and class action lawyers and a wonderful man of God; and, finally, from Dr. Steve Brown, pastor, professor emeritus of Reformed Theological Seminary, and host of the radio show Key Life.
The CLS conference will also include the annual Christian Legal Aid Summit, meetings of the General Counsel Forum, and both the Anglican and the Orthodox Christian lawyer gatherings. Our workshops will again include the great presenters you have come to expect from CLS – covering issues like church and nonprofit law, estate planning, appellate practice, business acquisition, practice management, immigration law, trial advocacy and much more – and, of course, the religious freedom session.
So mark your calendar and set aside the time. You will be so glad you did. I look forward to seeing you in beautiful Florida.
See you soon!
P.S. The hotel is literally located on the beach – so remember to pack accordingly. We are praying for lovely weather and a wonderful time of fellowship, learning, and beautiful sunsets.
